Space Tech Expo 2017 – My Experience

I attended the Space Tech Expo held at the Pasadena Convention Center from May 23 to 25. The Space Tech Expo calls itself “America’s Space Engineering and Manufacturing Meeting Place.” I had the free exhibit hall pass which also included many free-to-attend presentations from exhibitors in the Open Tech Forum. (There was also a Space Tech Conference which was out of my budget at this time.) There were many interesting presentations, with major themes covering 3D printing/additive manufacturing, testing, data management, and supply chain management. The third day was dedicated to covering the requirements to do business with the Air Force, NASA, and large prime contractors, like Boeing and Northrop Grumman.

The Space Tech Expo had over 250 exhibitors, many of them small companies or startups. Although I am not in a position to purchase products or services from these companies, I like to keep up with the technology available and make contacts that could be helpful in the future. Below are some photos I took of things being showcased in the exhibit hall this year. Don’t miss the video after the slideshow!

  • I walked down Aisle 2000 first on my way to the free sessions theater.

I’ll end my post with a fun video of the wind-up dancing robot toy that BAE Systems had at their booth.
